Suspicious Deaths of 3 Girls in Surat: Vomiting After Eating Ice Cream

Three children from a laborer family in Sachin Pali village, Surat, tragically passed away on Friday after consuming ice cream and sitting near a fire. The incident has prompted an investigation by the health department. It is unclear whether their deaths resulted from consuming the ice cream or inhaling toxic fumes during the fire. Consumed Ice Cream and Sat by a Fire

According to reports, the three children from Pali village ate ice cream and later sat near a fire. Their health deteriorated soon after, leading to their untimely deaths. Investigations are underway to determine if the deaths were caused by the ice cream, smoke from the fire, or other reasons. The post-mortem report is expected to provide clarity.

Dizzy Spells and Vomiting During the Fire – Shila

Shila, one of the children who miraculously survived, recounted the incident. She said, “My sisters and I, along with two other girls, were sitting by the fire. The other two girls had just eaten ice cream before joining us. We were feeling cold, so we started the fire. Suddenly, we felt dizzy and started vomiting. We ran back home after that.”

What the Family Members Said

The family members revealed that five children had bought ice cream from a nearby shop. That night, the children lit a fire to keep warm. Three of them began vomiting and lost consciousness soon after. They were rushed to nearby hospitals. Two children passed away in private hospitals, while one died at Surat Civil Hospital. Post-mortem examinations are being conducted at Surat Civil Hospital to determine the cause of death.

Initially, the three children were treated at a nearby private hospital. As Durga Kumari’s condition worsened, she was taken to Navsari Civil Hospital. However, the hospital reportedly pressured the family to move her elsewhere, and treatment was stopped. Despite the family’s pleas, the doctors were uncooperative. Eventually, she was brought to Surat Civil Hospital between 4–5 AM, where she was admitted after intervention by senior officials. Although she was provided oxygen and treatment, her condition did not improve, and she passed away early in the morning. The incident has left the family in deep sorrow and anger.
