Khyatikand: 3 More Arrested, 3 Accused Still Absconding; Caught from Kheda & Udaipur

Ahmedabad Crime Branch has achieved a major success in the ongoing investigation of the Khyatikand. Following the registration of cases against seven accused, Dr. Prashant Vazirani was arrested. However, six other accused remained absconding. Among them, Chirag Rajput, Rahul Jain, and Milind Patel have now been apprehended. Chirag Rajput was caught near Kheda, while Milind and Rahul were arrested in Udaipur. Along with these three, the police have also detained two other suspects for questioning.

Four Arrested So Far in Khyatikand

So far, four individuals have been arrested in connection with the Khyatikand. However, the hospital chairman Karthik Patel, Rajshree Kothari, and Dr. Sanjay Patoliya are still absconding, and efforts to locate them are ongoing.

Arrests Made from Kheda and Udaipur

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch had been working for a long time to apprehend the accused in the Khyatikand. Acting on crucial information, the team discovered that the accused were in contact with each other via social media using new mobile phones, having switched off their previous ones. Chirag Rajput was arrested near Kheda, while Rahul Jain and Milind Patel were nabbed from Udaipur.

Chirag Rajput Tracked to Rajasthan, Arrested Near Kheda

According to the investigation, the last known location of Khyati Hospital CEO Chirag Rajput’s mobile phone indicated he was in Rajasthan. However, he was ultimately found at a farmhouse near Kheda, approximately 60 km from Ahmedabad. Despite attempts by the accused to mislead the Crime Branch, their efforts failed.

Crime Branch Begins Interrogation of Arrested Accused

The arrested individuals have been brought to the Ahmedabad Crime Branch, where they are being interrogated. The investigation focuses on how they managed to flee and who might have helped them.

Communicating Through New Phones to Evade Police

The accused had switched off their old mobile phones to avoid being tracked by the police. They remained in contact through social media on new devices, according to the findings.

Four Out of Seven Accused Apprehended, Three Still Absconding

Initially, cases were registered against five individuals, later expanded to seven. While Dr. Prashant Vazirani was the first to be arrested, six others went on the run. The Crime Branch has now arrested three more suspects, leaving hospital chairman Karthik Patel, Rajshree Kothari, and Dr. Sanjay Patoliya still at large.

Chirag Rajput: From Medical Representative to CEO of Khyati Hospital

Chirag Rajput’s role came to light as a former medical representative who transitioned into the CEO of Khyati Hospital. Starting with small jobs and forming connections, he met Karthik Patel, a major land trader with good relations in the medical field. This relationship eventually led to Rajput becoming CEO. He played a significant role in hospital operations, second only to Karthik Patel.

During a search of Chirag Rajput’s residence at Rivera Blue in Makarba, police discovered a stockpile of foreign liquor bottles worth ₹2.85 lakh, hidden in a wooden cabinet.

Milind Patel: Marketing Expert Linked to Chirag Rajput

Milind Patel came into contact with Chirag while working in medical marketing. Skilled in connecting with rural populations, Milind assisted in bringing patients to Khyati Hospital. His expertise in field marketing made him a valuable asset to the hospital.

Rahul Jain: Mastermind of Financial Manipulations

Rahul Jain excelled in managing financial operations for the hospital. He oversaw patient transfers, operations under PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat scheme), and all associated expenses and revenue. His role was crucial in maximizing profits from fraudulent activities.

What Was the Khyatikand?

The scam came to light after 19 angiographies and seven angioplasties were conducted on villagers from Borisana in Kadi on November 11 at Khyati Multispecialty Hospital on SG Highway, Ahmedabad. Two patients died, leading to a public outcry. The hospital management and doctors were accused of conducting unnecessary surgeries to exploit the PMJAY scheme. Cases were filed against seven individuals, with four arrests made so far.
