MD Drugs Seized in Ahmedabad: ₹1.30 Crore Worth of Drugs, Firearms, and Live Cartridges Found in Danilimda Area
The drug problem in Ahmedabad has escalated to such an extent that MD drugs have been seized for the second consecutive day. On Wednesday, a drug syndicate was exposed after MD drugs worth ₹25.68 lakh were found in a flat in the Narayanpura area of the city. Within hours, the Crime Branch arrested a man from the Danilimda area with 1.25 kg of MD drugs in his possession. Police also found two firearms and 40 live cartridges from the accused’s custody.
The investigation is ongoing to determine where the accused obtained such a large quantity of drugs from, who he intended to deliver them to, and the intended use of the seized firearms.
MD Drugs Seized for the Second Consecutive Day in Ahmedabad
On Tuesday night, Ahmedabad’s Special Operations Group (SOG) raided a flat in the Narayanpura area of the city, seizing drugs worth ₹25 lakh and arresting six members of a drug syndicate.
Just hours later, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch apprehended a man named Zishan Dutta Powle from the Danilimda area with 1.23 kg of MD drugs worth ₹1.30 crore in his possession.
Weapons and Cash Seized from Drug Dealer Arrested in Danilimda
The accused arrested with a large quantity of drugs from the Danilimda area was found to be in possession of two firearms, 40 live cartridges, and ₹18 lakh in cash. The police are investigating the intended use of the weapons seized from the accused.
Preliminary investigations also reveal that the accused has been involved in other criminal activities in the past.
Drugs Seized from Elephanta Society in Ahmedabad by Police
On Tuesday, the SOG team received a tip-off about Mustakeem Sheikh, who was allegedly involved in the drug trade in the Fatehwadi area. According to the information, Mustakeem had ordered a drug shipment from Mohammad Khan, a person residing in Madhya Pradesh, and the transaction was set to take place in the Elephanta Society in Narayanpura.
Acting on the tip-off, the SOG team raided Jignesh Pandya’s house in the Elephanta Society, where Mohammad Khan, Mustakeem (also known as Bhuro), Dhruv Patel, Mohammad Ejaz Sheikh, and Abrar Khan Pathan were present. The SOG team cordoned off the area and conducted body searches, recovering white powder from all the suspects.
MD Drugs Worth ₹25.68 Lakh Seized from Jignesh Pandya’s House
The SOG team also discovered a Scorpio car, which was found to contain white powder upon inspection. The team immediately notified the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory), and their report confirmed that the white powder was MD drugs.
The SOG arrested Jignesh Pandya, Mohammad Khan, Mustakeem, Dhruv Patel, Mohammad Ejaz, and Abrar Khan Pathan. During individual interrogations, the accused revealed that the drugs had been sourced from the Rajasthan-based drug mafia, Sameer. The SOG seized MD drugs worth ₹25.68 lakh and a Scorpio car valued at ₹3 lakh from the suspects.
Mustakeem and Mohammad Khan Operated a Drug Syndicate
Mustakeem and Mohammad Khan had set up a drug syndicate and were providing commissions to those involved in selling the drugs. They appointed several individuals as commission agents, including Jignesh Pandya, Dhruv Patel, Mohammad Ejaz, and Abrar Khan Pathan, who became members of the syndicate.
The high commission offered by Mustakeem and Mohammad Khan motivated these four young men to join the drug trade. The SOG successfully raided the flat and seized MD drugs worth ₹25.68 lakh during the operation.
