The fire department’s team rescued 37 people by breaking the window glass and evacuating them to safety. The police formed multiple teams to assist the injured and those unable to move, using stretchers to bring them down the stairs of the M and N buildings before transferring them to the hospital for treatment.

A total of 21 people are currently receiving medical attention, including 64-year-old Meenaben Shah, who tragically passed away during treatment. The other rescued individuals have been provided necessary care and discharged from the hospital.

Possible Causes of the Fire Under Investigation

There are three possible reasons being discussed regarding how the fire started in the building. According to the fire department, the fire was caused by a short circuit.

However, local residents suggest that the fire may have been ignited when children threw firecrackers into a duct line, which then spread to other floors.

Another theory is that the fire started from a sofa placed on a table outside a flat on the eighth floor. The fire department is currently investigating the true cause of the fire.
