Mercedes AMG C63 SE Performance Launch: Priced at ₹1.95 Crore; Reaches 0 to 100 km/h in Just 3.4 Seconds, Competing with BMW M4
Mercedes-Benz India has launched the AMG C63 SE Performance in the Indian market. This is the German company’s third car launch in India this year. The company claims that the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds.
The starting price for this car is set at Rs. 1.95 crore (ex-showroom, pan-India). Bookings have already started, and deliveries are scheduled for April next year. The new Mercedes AMG C63 SE Performance will compete with the Audi RS 5 Sportback and the BMW M4. This new sedan features AMG-specific design elements and updates.
Exterior Features: LED Headlight Setup with DRL
The AMG C63 SE Performance maintains a similar shape to the standard C-Class but stands out with a vertically slatted grille, aggressive bumpers, and quad-tip exhausts. The front is elongated with broad fenders, giving it a powerful look.
The front features LED headlights with LED DRLs, and an AMG-specific grille with vertical slats. Dual electronically controlled air intakes on the rear bumper adjust airflow as needed.
On the sides, it has sporty side skirts and standard 19-inch AMG wheels, with an option for 20-inch forged wheels. The car measures 4,841mm in length and 1,900mm in width, making it larger than the standard model, with a 10mm increase in wheelbase.
The rear includes a black diffuser, dual trapezoidal exhaust tips on both sides, and a black spoiler on the boot lid. However, the taillights remain similar to the regular C-Class. It also features a plug-in charging flap on the left fender and model badging with red highlights.
Interior Features: 12.3-Inch Digital Driver Display
The cabin of the AMG C63 SE Performance features standard Nappa leather upholstery with an embossed AMG logo on the front headrests, along with various other upholstery options. The steering wheel includes rotary dials on the dashboard, allowing for easy selection of drive modes and suspension settings.
Behind the steering wheel is a 12.3-inch digital driver display that can be customized with different styles and views. Additionally, the driver display offers AMG-specific modes like Race and Supersport, visible through the optional head-up display. Other notable features include a panoramic sunroof and a premium Burmester audio system.
11.9-Inch MBUX Touchscreen Infotainment System
The AMG C63 SE Performance is equipped with a centrally placed 11.9-inch MBUX touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard, featuring hybrid-specific displays.
Other premium features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone integration, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), AMG sports seats, carbon-fiber trim, and red ambient lighting.
Performance: Claimed as the Most Powerful 4-Cylinder Production Car
The new AMG C63 SE Performance is powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder V8 twin-turbo petrol engine delivering 469hp. It is paired with a 2-speed electric motor on the rear axle. This plug-in hybrid setup generates a combined power of 680hp and 1020Nm of torque.
The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox, and an all-wheel-drive option is also available. It features a 6.1kWh battery pack, providing an electric range of up to 13 km on a full charge. Mercedes claims this is the most powerful 4-cylinder production car in the world, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. It also includes a Drift Mode for enhanced off-roading capabilities.
