MICA Student Murdered in Bopal by Police Constable Virendra Singh Padhiyar, Arrested by Crime Branch in Punjab

On November 10, a heated argument over driving in the Bopal area of Ahmedabad led to the murder of MICA college student Priyanshu Jain. The murderer, Virendra Singh Padhiyar, a constable at the Sarkhej Police Station, has been arrested.

The student had confronted the car driver, which angered the driver. In retaliation, the driver attacked the student with a pellet gun. The injured student was rushed to the hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries during the treatment. After the attack, the driver fled the scene. A complaint was registered at the Bopal Police Station.

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch team tracked and arrested Virendra Singh from Punjab. He had been working in the Investigation Department at Sarkhej Police Station. After committing the murder, Virendra fled to Punjab, but the Ahmedabad Crime Branch managed to apprehend him. He is now being brought back to Ahmedabad by the Crime Branch.

During the investigation, many suspicious individuals were questioned. The Ahmedabad district police and various agencies were working on the case, but there were several unresolved issues, including the lack of CCTV footage and uncertainty about the car used by the accused.

The Crime Branch made a significant breakthrough when they followed a car based on a lead. The car’s location was traced to Punjab, and upon stopping and investigating the vehicle, it was discovered that the car was being driven by a police officer from the Sarkhej Police Station.

Once Virendra Singh is questioned about the circumstances surrounding the murder, he will be handed over to the Ahmedabad district police for further legal procedures. Meanwhile, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch is continuing to gather evidence to solve the case.
