Potential Traffic Issues Due to Road Closure Near Gandhi Ashram
As part of the Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram redevelopment project, the road leading to the ashram has been permanently closed to vehicular traffic. This is expected to increase traffic on the route from Subhash Bridge RTO Circle towards Prabodh Rawal Bridge. Roadwork near Prabodh Rawal Bridge is still incomplete, and only the bridge area has been widened so far, potentially leading to traffic congestion.
Additionally, bridge construction is underway on Palak T Road towards Vadaj, which may further add to the traffic buildup in the area.
New Parking Facility Near Khet Vikas Parishad for Ashram Visitors
A new parking area has been created near Khet Vikas Parishad for visitors coming from Vadaj, and a separate parking facility has been established near Magan Niwas for those coming from Subhash Bridge. This allows visitors to park their vehicles and then proceed to visit the Ashram. Traffic signage has also been installed due to the closure of roads on both sides.
The road from Subhash Bridge towards Gandhi Ashram, up to Hotel Ashray, has been kept open for local residents of Ghanshyam Nagar, Reserve Bank Quarters, and the society near Batresi Bhavan, allowing them to move freely.
