Over 5,000 Spectators Attend Galaxy Garba Daily

Galaxy Garbi Mandal (GGM) is one of the most renowned traditional Garba events in Rajkot. Established in 1995, GGM has flourished with the support of SNK and Galaxy Group. Students from SNK School and young women from Kansagara College actively participate in this Garba Mandal.

To manage the large crowd, a pass system is in place, and over 5,000 people attend the event every day. Watching this Garba is considered a special experience, and obtaining a pass to witness the performances is quite challenging due to its immense popularity.

Three Months of Rigorous Practice for Galaxy Garba Performers

Out of all the dancers who attend the auditions, only 50% are selected. The selection process begins in July, and after that, practice sessions are held every day from 2 PM for three continuous months.

While people eagerly await the Garba performances, the backstage team works tirelessly for months to perfect every detail. Although a pass system is in place for those attending the event, there is no charge for the passes. The pass system is implemented purely for crowd management and smooth operation.

Aarti at 6 PM Followed by Performances Until Midnight

Every day at 6 PM, the Garba begins with an Aarti, followed by performances by different senior and junior groups until midnight. Over the nine days of the event, three shows are held daily. The children’s groups perform first from 6:00 to 7:40 PM, followed by the next group from 8:10 to 9:50 PM, and the final Garba session runs from 10:20 PM until midnight.

GGM offers seating for around 4,000 to 5,000 people, and despite distributing 12,000 to 13,000 passes daily, there is still a high demand for passes due to the event’s immense popularity.

Dazzling Display with 1,000 LED Lights at Galaxy Garba

The Galaxy Garba features a spectacular setup, with four triangular stages designed to host simultaneous performances. A powerful 25,000-volt sound system and around 1,000 LED lights create an electrifying atmosphere.

The floor is specially crafted with a wooden surface to ensure the safety of the dancers, preventing any injuries. Additionally, careful seating arrangements are made so that the lights do not interfere with the viewing experience of parents and spectators enjoying the event.
