NSUI Protest at Marwadi University Over Drug, Ragging Issues; Police Detain Activists

Today, the NSUI staged a protest at Rajkot’s Marwadi University. Earlier, cannabis plants were found at the university, and now a video of a fight between female students over a vulgar video involving a student from Andhra Pradesh has gone viral. NSUI state president Narendra Solanki and others raised slogans during the protest. The police intervened and detained them when they attempted to climb the university gates.

We Won’t Stop Even if We Have to Surround the Homes of the Administrators

NSUI state president Narendra Solanki stated that Marwadi University in Rajkot is constantly embroiled in controversies. Previously, cannabis was being cultivated at the university, which caused an uproar. Recently, no action has been taken regarding the incident where a student from Andhra Pradesh made a vulgar video of another female student and sent it to her boyfriend. The state government’s education department has no control over the entire university, and that’s why we are protesting here. If necessary, we will not hesitate to surround the homes of the university administrators in the future.

University in Controversy Over Vulgar Video

Once again, Rajkot’s Marwadi University finds itself in controversy. On the evening of the 20th, a student from Andhra Pradesh, studying in the first year of B.Tech at the university, filmed a video of her minor roommate while she was taking a shower and sent it to her boyfriend. The victimized student later learned that her video had been shared. In response, the victim attacked the roommate who filmed the video, and this altercation was also captured on a mobile phone. The university has since formed a disciplinary action committee. However, a decision regarding filing a police complaint will be made after the parents of both students from Andhra Pradesh arrive.

Counseling Provided to Students

Pinto Mamn, the joint registrar of Marwadi University, previously stated that the police from Kuwadva arrived after a fight between two first-year B.Tech students from Andhra Pradesh. The students received counseling. During this time, no video of the student showering was found on any mobile phone. Since both students are minors, the university has formed a committee, and the parents of both students have been summoned from Andhra Pradesh. Further actions will be determined once the parents arrive.
