Mayank Yadav Debuts in India’s T20 Squad vs Bangladesh; Varun Chakravarthy Returns, Samson & Jitesh as Keepers
The Indian team for the T20 series against Bangladesh has been announced. Most senior players have been rested under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav. Fast bowler Mayank Yadav, who impressed with his 150 km/h bowling in the IPL, has been given a chance for the first time.
Varun Chakravarthy and Abhishek Sharma have made a return to the team, while Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma have been selected as wicketkeepers. Hardik Pandya is also part of the team. The three-match T20 series against Bangladesh will begin on October 6.
Rest for Bumrah and Shubman
Senior players have been rested from the T20 series squad, including fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Rishabh Pant, and Mohammad Siraj. All these players are part of Team India for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh.
Mayank Can Bowl at 150 KMPH
Mayank Yadav, who plays for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, has been given his first opportunity in the Indian team. While playing for Lucknow, he surprised everyone by bowling at speeds exceeding 150 km/h. After taking 7 wickets in 4 matches, he suffered an injury. Now, after recovering, he has been included in the Indian team.
Abhishek and Chakravarthy Return
Abhishek Sharma, who made his T20 debut against Zimbabwe in July this year, has also returned to the team. He was not included in the T20 team for the Sri Lanka series. He scored a century in the series against Zimbabwe. Spinner Varun Chakravarthy has also been selected. He last played for India during the T20 World Cup in 2021.
Samson and Jitesh as Wicketkeepers
After Rishabh Pant was rested, Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma were selected as the two wicketkeepers. Ishan Kishan has not been included in the 15-member squad. The team includes five all-rounders: Hardik Pandya, Riyan Parag, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, and Shivam Dube. Along with Mayank, fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh and young Harshit Rana have also been given a chance. Ravi Bishnoi has been selected in the spin department as well.
Series Starts from October 6
The second Test match of the two-match series between India and Bangladesh is currently being played in Kanpur. This match will continue until October 1. After this, the T20 series between both teams will begin on October 6. Three matches will be played in Gwalior, Delhi, and Hyderabad. The second T20 will be held on October 9, and the third T20 on October 12.
