Scrap Seller Buys iPhone 16 for Son While Wearing Torn Clothes, Video Goes Viral

A Scrap Seller Proves a Famous Bollywood Dialogue True: “If You Want Something With All Your Heart, The Universe Will Help You Achieve It.”

The iconic dialogue from the movie Om Shanti Om—”If you desire something intensely, the whole universe will conspire to help you achieve it”—was proven true by a scrap seller. With sheer hard work and determination, one can achieve anything they set their heart on.

For many people earning high salaries, purchasing an iPhone is like a dream. However, a poor laborer, who earns his living by selling scrap like plastic and other materials, bought an iPhone 16 for his son and an iPhone 15 for himself. When he reached the Apple store with cash in hand, it left everyone surprised.

In India, the starting price of the iPhone 16 series is ₹79,900, with the top model priced at ₹1,59,900. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 series starts at ₹69,900, and due to some offers, it can be bought for around ₹54,000.

What’s in the Viral Video?

In the viral video, some people were intrigued by the new iPhone in the man’s hand and started recording him. They asked where he got the iPhone from. When questioned about what he does for a living, the man responded, “I have been collecting scrap for 12 months—glass, bottles, plastic—and selling them.”

They also asked him how much the phone cost. He replied, “I bought it for ₹85,000. I got another for my son, which cost ₹1,80,000. I told my son that if he scored good marks in his 10th grade, I would give him an iPhone. He worked hard and scored 89%.”

Though the man speaks Marathi, it is unclear where exactly he is from. The authenticity of the video is yet to be verified.
