Blast in Diamond Factory Gas Line: 14 Artisans Burned, 2 in Critical Condition

There was chaos when a gas line explosion occurred at a diamond factory located next to Lakshmi Diamond Factory in Surat’s Katargam area. Due to a flash fire caused by the accident, 14 workers inside the factory were injured. Reports suggest that the condition of two individuals is critical. All injured have been immediately shifted to Kiran Hospital for treatment.

Sudden Blast in Gas Line

While cleaning diamonds in the factory in Surat’s Katargam area, a gas line exploded with a loud bang. The gas line was being used to clean the dust off the diamonds. The sudden blast caused burns to 14 workers involved in the diamond cleaning process. The fire department quickly reached the scene and brought the fire under control. However, two of the injured workers are reported to be in critical condition due to flash fire burns.

Injured Workers Shifted to Kiran Hospital

Fire Officer Ramesh Seller stated that they arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the call. The fire was brought under control by spraying water. It was discovered that 14 workers had already suffered burns before the fire was controlled. All of them were transferred to Kiran Hospital for treatment. The entire incident occurred due to an explosion in the gas line. Although the fire was controlled within minutes, the workers suffered burns due to the flash fire.
