Namo Bharat Rapid Rail to Launch Soon Between Ahmedabad and Vadodara, 70-Minute Travel Time
After Ahmedabad-Bhuj, the ‘Namo Bharat Rapid Rail’ will soon be launched between Ahmedabad and Vadodara. Additionally, there are plans to connect Vadodara and Surat with this rapid rail service.
This train, running at a speed of 110-120 kilometers per hour, will cover the distance between Ahmedabad and Vadodara in just 70 minutes. Initially, there were plans to launch the country’s first Vande Metro train between Ahmedabad and Vadodara, but it was instead started between Ahmedabad and Bhuj.
Rapid Rail to Benefit the Working Class and Students
The rapid rail service will be highly beneficial for the working class and students. According to available details, there is currently one rapid rail running between Ahmedabad and Bhuj daily. In comparison, there is a possibility of 2-3 trips of rapid rail between Ahmedabad and Vadodara.
This service will greatly benefit the working class and students commuting between Ahmedabad and Vadodara. On Monday, September 16th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the country’s first Vande Metro train. The country’s first Namo Bharat Rapid Rail has been launched between Bhuj and Ahmedabad, and it will operate six days a week.
No Service on Sundays from Bhuj, and Saturdays from Ahmedabad
The rapid rail will not operate on Sundays from Bhuj and on Saturdays from Ahmedabad. Along its route, the train will stop at Anjar, Gandhidham, Bhachau, Samakhiyali, Halvad, Dhrangadhra, Viramgam, Chandlodiya, and Sabarmati.
The train will depart from Bhuj at 5:05 AM and will arrive in Ahmedabad at 10:50 AM. For the return journey, the train will leave Ahmedabad at 5:30 PM and reach Bhuj by 11:10 PM.
What is the Fare?
The Vande Metro train will stop at 9 stations during its journey, with a halt of approximately 2 minutes at each station, completing the journey in 5 hours and 45 minutes. The fare list for the Vande Metro train has also been released, with the minimum fare being ₹28. In addition to this, passengers will need to pay a superfast surcharge, reservation charges, and GST.
For a journey of up to 50 kilometers on the Vande Metro, passengers will be charged ₹60 plus GST and other applicable charges. Beyond this, the base fare will increase by ₹1.20 per kilometer. The fare structure is designed to be cheaper than the AC suburban trains running in Mumbai.

This train, developed with indigenous technology, features 12 AC coaches. It is equipped with automatic sliding doors, modular interiors, continuous LED lighting, toilets with evacuation facilities, route map indicators, panoramic windows, CCTV, phone charging facilities, an alarm system with automatic smoke/fire detection, and an aerosol-based fire suppression system.
