Hero Xtreme 160R 2V Launched in India: Drag Race Timer, Single-Channel ABS, Price ₹1.11 L

Hero Motocorp launched the Hero Xtreme 160R 2V in the Indian market yesterday (10th September). The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer recently introduced the 2024 model of the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V, and now it has launched the updated version of the Hero Xtreme 160R 2V.

After the update, the company has set the bike’s ex-showroom price at ₹1.11 lakh, making it ₹28,000 cheaper than the Xtreme 160R 4V. This bike now comes equipped with features like a drag race timer, single-channel ABS, tail light, and a single-piece seat similar to the Xtreme 160R 4V. It will compete with the Bajaj Pulsar N150 (₹1.25 lakh) and Yamaha FZ range of bikes (₹1.17 lakh-₹1.30 lakh).

2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 2V: Design and Hardware

The 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 2V is available in only one variant, featuring a black color. Hero has removed the split seat and replaced it with a single-piece seat for a more comfortable ride. The front features an LED headlight and daytime running light. The company has given the new Xtreme 160R 2V a new tail section with a redesigned tail light and a new rear panel.

The tail light includes an emergency stop signal that flashes during emergency braking. The bike now also has a drag timer on the instrument console, which can measure the bike’s speed. This bike is built on a diamond-type frame and now comes with KYB inverted forks and a 7-step preload-adjustable monoshock.

For braking, the bike features a front disc brake with single-channel ABS and rear drum brakes. The bike is fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, with a 100/80 tubeless tire at the front and a 130/70 tubeless tire at the rear. The seat height is 795mm, and the Xtreme weighs 145 kg with a 12-liter fuel tank.

2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 2V: Engine Specifications

There have been no changes to the bike’s engine. It retains the 163.2cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine, producing 15hp at 8,500rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox unit. The bike is OBD-2 compliant and capable of running on E20 petrol (20% ethanol mix fuel).
