Mercedes Vandalized with Sword and Wooden stick: Ahmedabad Bootlegger’s Son Kidnapped

The son of a bootlegger from the Krishnanagar area of Ahmedabad was kidnapped and brutally beaten by individuals in an expensive car on Thursday (September 5) night. Following the incident, the bootlegger’s associates went on a rampage, breaking car windows in the Krishnanagar and Naroda areas in the middle of the night. They wielded open swords and wooden sticks, damaging vehicles. Some individuals were staggering around in a state of intoxication. Despite a police vehicle passing by at the time, no action was taken. The Krishnanagar police have filed a case against Dhama Barad and four others based on a complaint from bootlegger Kishorsinh Rathod’s son, Ajitsinh. A separate case has also been registered for the vandalism of vehicles.

Bootlegger’s Son Beaten with a Stick

According to reports, Ajitsinh, the son of notorious bootlegger Kishorsinh Rathod from the Krishnanagar area of Ahmedabad, was heading home after closing his hotel on Thursday night. Around 1:30 AM, he reached the gate of Shyam Vihar Society. At that moment, a Mercedes car approached and flashed its lights. When Ajitsinh asked why the car flashed its lights, a person stepped out and hit him on the head with a stick.

Youth Kidnapped and Beaten

Afterward, another person in the car made a phone call, and within minutes, another black car arrived. Inside were Dhama Barad, a notorious figure, and two of his associates, who brutally assaulted Ajitsinh, kidnapped him, and took him in their car. They drove a short distance away and beat him again. During this time, some of Ajitsinh’s acquaintances arrived, prompting Dhama Barad and his group to flee the scene.

Vandals Staggering Around in a State of Intoxication

Following the incident, Ajitsinh’s father, Kishorsinh Rathod, mobilized several tough individuals from the Asarwa and Shahibaug areas to search for Dhama Barad and his associates. Late at night, they took control of the Krishnanagar and Naroda areas. They vandalized vehicles in the area, including Dhama Barad’s Mercedes.

Police Observed the Incident from Afar and Left

While Kishorsinh Rathod’s associates were smashing the windows of the Mercedes, a police vehicle passed by. Despite being only 100 meters from the scene, the officers observed the incident from a distance and drove away without taking any action. No steps were taken at that time, raising serious questions about the police’s night patrols and public safety measures.

Complaints Filed by Both Parties

Krishnanagar Police Inspector Abhishek Dhav confirmed that a complaint regarding the kidnapping has been registered. A separate complaint has also been filed for the vandalism of vehicles. The Surveillance Squad is investigating the complaints.
