Indian Doctor Arrested in the U.S. for Photographing Nude Women and Children

A 40-year-old Indian doctor, Umar Ejaz, residing in Rochester Hills, Oakland County, Michigan, was arrested on August 8th for secretly installing cameras in hospitals and capturing photos of women and children in compromising situations over several years. 

The police became aware of his crimes after his wife presented distressing evidence. The doctor, who has no prior criminal record and is a father of two sons, has been set a bond of $20 million.

Sheriff Reports Thousands of Videos Found in Doctor’s Home; Comparison to Larry Nassar Case

Sheriff Mike Bouchard of Oakland County has reported that thousands of videos were discovered at the doctor’s home. The police found 13,000 videos on a single hard drive, which will take months to investigate. 

The doctor’s actions are being compared to those of former sports doctor Larry Nassar, who was involved in a similar sex scandal.

Doctor Faces Multiple Charges and Seizure of Devices; Victims Range from Children to Adults

On August 8th, police arrested the doctor and subsequently issued numerous warrants, seizing six computers, four phones, and fifteen external devices. Umar Ejaz was charged on August 13th with sexual exploitation of children, taking photos of individuals in a state of nudity, and using a computer to commit these crimes. 

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald stated that Ejaz was targeting victims in prestigious institutions and hospitals. In 2023, he took photos of children and their mothers in changing rooms at the Goldfish Swimming Club. The victims include individuals ranging from a two-year-old child to adult women.

Doctor’s Background and Response to Large Number of Victims

Umar Ejaz came to the U.S. from India on a work visa in 2011. After completing his residency at Sinai Grace Hospital, he lived in Alabama before returning to Michigan in 2018. He has also worked at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township and Ascension Genesis Hospital in Grand Blanc. 

Currently, he works as a physician on contract for a company that assigns him to various hospitals.

The number of victims affected by this doctor’s actions is so extensive that the police have set up a special email address for people to contact authorities and provide necessary information.
