BSA Gold Star 650 Launched at ₹2.99 Lakh: Retro Bike with 652cc Engine to Rival RE Interceptor

Mahindra Group’s subsidiary BSA Motorcycles launched the new BSA Gold Star 650 in the Indian market on August 15. The bike is offered in six color options, including Highland Green, Insignia Red, Midnight Black, Dawn Silver, Shadow Black, and Silver Sheen.

The ex-showroom price of the bike starts at ₹2.99 lakh, and depending on the color, it goes up to ₹3.34 lakh for the Silver Sheen top variant. Bookings for the bike have begun, and interested customers can book it online, with deliveries expected to start soon.

Performance: Top Speed Exceeds 160kmph

The Gold Star 650 features a 652cc 4-valve, DOHC, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that generates 45bhp of power at 6500rpm and 55Nm of torque at 4000rpm. The engine is tuned with a 5-speed gearbox for transmission. The company claims that the engine is refined and can achieve a top speed exceeding 160kmph.

Hardware: Dual-Channel Anti-Lock Braking System Available

The BSA Gold Star 650 is built on a double cradle frame. For a comfortable ride, it is equipped with a 41mm telescopic suspension at the front and adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear. For braking, the bike features a 320mm disc brake at the front and a 255mm disc brake at the rear, along with a dual-channel Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).

This motorcycle measures 2206mm in length, 1093mm in height, and 817mm in width. It has a ground clearance of 150mm and a seat height of 782mm. The bike comes with 18-inch wire-spoke wheels at the front and 17-inch wire-spoke wheels at the rear, giving it a classic look. Pirelli tires are fitted on both wheels.

Design: Inspired by Vintage Models of the 1960s

The motorcycle has a retro appearance, primarily inspired by its older models from the 1960s. Wire-spoke wheels, round-shaped headlight, faux cooling fin, teardrop fuel tank, and flat single seat are its key features.

The BSA Gold Star 650 boasts chrome accents on the exhaust and engine components. It also has a dual-pod analog instrument cluster, featuring a speedometer and tachometer along with a multi-information display. In terms of features, the bike includes a USB port on the handlebar and a 12V socket near the throttle body on the left side.
