Filmmaker Hansal Mehta Upset Over Daughter’s Aadhar Card Delay: Calls It Harassment
Director Hansal Mehta, known for acclaimed series like ‘Scam 1992’ and ‘Scam 2003’, has been struggling for a long time to get an Aadhar card made for his daughter. Seeing his daughter going around the Aadhar office, the filmmaker has become disheartened. Recently, he expressed on social media that his daughter has been continuously harassed.
Hansal Mehta recently shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) to express his frustration. He wrote that his daughter has been trying to apply for an Aadhar card for the last 3 weeks. She had to travel a long distance to the Aadhar card office in Andheri East through heavy rains. Despite arriving on time, senior managers repeatedly sent her back over various issues. Sometimes they would ask for a signature, other times they would say to bring a document, or claim that the stamp is in the wrong place. They would say there is no appointment today or that they are on a week’s leave. This is very disappointing and is no less than harassment.
Following Hansal Mehta’s tweet, a response was received from the official Aadhar X handle. The reply stated, “Dear Aadhar number holder, please provide your complete address, contact details, and the full information about the Aadhar center and the problem so that we can assist further.”
Hansal Mehta was previously married to Sunita, with whom he has two sons, Jai and Pallav. After divorcing his first wife, he married Safina Hussain, daughter of actor Yusuf Hussain. From this marriage, he has two daughters, Kimaya and Rehana.
Hansal Mehta is known for films like ‘CITILITE’, ‘Das Kahaniyan’, ‘Simran’, ‘Shahid’, ‘Aligarh’, and ‘Chhalaang’. He has also directed acclaimed series such as ‘Scam 1992’, ‘Scam 2003’, ‘Scoop’, and ‘Gandhi’.
