Uncle Disrupts Nephew’s Party: 4 Key Leaders Ready to Join Sharad Pawar, BJP at Risk in Maharashtra
NCP leader Ajit Pawar is facing increasing political difficulties. In the Lok Sabha elections, his party won only one seat in Raigad. Still recovering from that loss, he was preparing to contest the assembly elections when now four major leaders have left him. With these four prominent leaders leaving NCP, the BJP in Maharashtra is in tension.
Four Leaders from Pimpri Chinchwad Leave Ajit Pawar
Four leaders from Pimpri Chinchwad have abandoned Ajit Pawar and are now likely to join his uncle Sharad Pawar’s party. By the end of this week, these individuals could join NCP Sharad Pawar. Ajit Gawhane, the president of the Pimpri Chinchwad unit, has sent his resignation to Ajit Pawar.
Ajit Pawar’s Troubles Increase
In addition to him, the head of the student wing, Yash Sane, former councilor Rahul Bhonsle, and Pankaj Bhalekar are also preparing to switch parties. These resignations come amid reports that many MLAs and leaders from Ajit Pawar’s group may now return to Sharad Pawar. Recently, senior OBC leader Chhagan Bhujbal had a long meeting with Sharad Pawar. He stated the meeting was to discuss issues including reservations, but speculations are that he might leave Ajit Pawar. In such a situation, Ajit Pawar’s position in the NDA will also weaken, and he won’t be able to demand more seats in the assembly elections.
Sharad Pawar Ready to Welcome Back Leaders
Let me inform you that last month, Sharad Pawar had said that those who have weakened the party will not be taken back. However, those who haven’t damaged the party’s image can be taken back. Sharad Pawar said, ‘Those who want to weaken the party will not be accepted. But leaders who have strengthened the organization and not tarnished the party’s image will be allowed entry.’ Let me inform you that last year, Ajit Pawar rebelled against his uncle. He became part of the government with about 40 NCP MLAs and is now the Deputy CM.
Shock Before Assembly Election Preparations
There was a long struggle between Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar over control of the party. Eventually, the Election Commission recognized Ajit Pawar’s group as the real NCP. However, the election results have given Ajit Pawar tension. On one hand, Ajit Pawar is preparing for the assembly elections, while on the other hand, his troubles have increased due to leaders leaving, disrupting his preparations.
Ajit Pawar Rebelled Last Year
It is noteworthy that last year, Ajit Pawar rebelled against his uncle and, with about 40 NCP MLAs, formed an alliance with the government and became the Deputy CM. Last month, Sharad Pawar said, ‘Those who want to weaken the party will not be accepted. But leaders who have strengthened the organization and not tarnished the party’s image will be allowed entry.
