In addition to its initiatives in Bhutan, the Adani Group is actively working on green energy projects in Sri Lanka. Earlier this month, the Sri Lankan government granted approval to Gautam Adani’s renewable energy company, Adani Green Energy, to develop wind power stations in the country. These stations will be constructed in Mannar and Pooneryn.
Both parties have signed a 20-year power purchase agreement, with the Sri Lankan government agreeing to pay the company 8.26 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity.
