Rinku’s Family’s Dream Shattered: Father Says – We Had Brought Sweets and Firecrackers, Son Says – Not Selected
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup on Tuesday. Uttar Pradesh’s talented batsman Rinku Singh was a strong contender for selection, but unfortunately, he did not make the cut.
This news has left Rinku’s family deeply disappointed. His father, Khanchand Singh, expressed his dismay while speaking to the media, stating, “We had brought sweets and firecrackers. We were hopeful that our son would play in the World Cup. But it didn’t happen.”
Rinku failed to secure a spot among the 15 members of the Indian team. Instead, he has been included as a reserve player. This means that if any player from the main squad gets injured, Rinku could potentially replace them.
Rinku’s Disappointment: A Missed Opportunity
Rinku called his mother and conveyed, “I wasn’t selected.” Khanchand expressed, “There were many expectations, so there is some sadness. We were celebrating because we thought Rinku would be in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup.
His heart is broken. He talked to his mother and told her that his name is not in the 11 or 15. It was also said that he is going to the West Indies-America as a reserve.”
Rinku comes from a family of 5 brothers. His father used to work in cylinder delivery. In an interview with Source, Rinku revealed that all the brothers used to keep 2-2 cylinders on their bikes and deliver them to hotels and homes.
