Justice Served: ‘TMKOC’ Actress Jennifer Wins Sexual Harassment Case Against Asit Modi
Jennifer Mistry, the television actress who plays a prominent role in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,’ has been in the limelight for quite some time now. The actress had leveled allegations of sexual harassment against the show’s producer Asit Kumar Modi. Now, in this case, Jennifer Mistry has achieved a new milestone in her fight against Asit Modi. In this regard, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala has been ordered to pay the remaining amount to the actress and has been directed to pay an additional compensation of 5 lakh rupees.
Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala had leveled allegations of sexual harassment against the show’s producer Asit Kumar Modi. Not only that, the actress had also filed complaints against two other executive producers, Jatin Bajaj and Suhel Raman, respectively. The Powai police had registered an FIR against Asit Modi under sections 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty). However, no arrests have been made in this case so far.
In the case related to the show “Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma,” actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala had accused the show’s producer, Asit Kumar Modi, of sexual harassment. After a prolonged legal battle, the actress has finally received justice. When there was no response from the Mumbai police, the actress sought help from the Maharashtra government, which eventually led to the conviction of Asit Modi. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala had shared that Asit Modi has been ordered to pay her an additional amount to settle the remaining dues. Furthermore, she stated that if harassment is considered, Asit Kumar Modi has been fined 5 lakh rupees. It is crucial to note that Asit Modi has not yet made any public statements regarding this matter.
Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala has finally broken her silence on the settlement reached in the cases against the producer of the TMKOC show and the allegations of sexual harassment. The settlement was reached on February 15, 2024, but the actress refrained from sharing any details about it until now.
