Ahmedabad Kite Festival Soars: CM Bhupendra Patel Flies 3 Kites, Including ‘I LOVE GUJARAT’ in 5-City Celebration

Today marks the commencement of the International Kite Festival 2024. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel officially inaugurated the festival on the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad. The festival will take place from January 7th to January 14th on the Sabarmati Riverfront, featuring 55 countries with 153 international kite flyers, 68 national kite flyers from 12 states, and 856 kite flyers from 23 cities in Gujarat.

New and Diverse Kites Take Flight

The International Kite Festival kicked off on the Sabarmati Riverfront today, attracting a large number of participants. The festival showcases a variety of innovative kites from different countries, including fish-shaped kites, Ram Mandir-themed kites, octopus kites, snake kites, and kites expressing love for Gujarat and Ahmedabad. Cities like Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, and Vadnagar are also hosting events as part of the festival.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel Flies Three Kites at Ram Mandir

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the International Kite Festival 2024 today by flying three kites, including one with the message “I LOVE GUJARAT.” The festival also features the flying of a kite representing the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Three kites symbolizing Ram Mandir were flown during the inauguration.

Surat Resident Creates Kite with Image of Ram

As part of the International Kite Festival on the Sabarmati Riverfront, a resident of Surat, Nitesh Lakum, created a special kite featuring the image of Lord Ram. Lakum, along with 15 friends, spent four days making the kite, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Ayodhya and the construction of the Ram Mandir. The kite symbolizes the promotion of Sanatan Dharma, and its creation was driven by the desire to contribute to this cause.

153 Kite Flyers from 55 Countries Join

Participants from various countries, including France, Turkey, Ukraine, Spain, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, will be flying kites at the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad. Additionally, cities like Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, and others in Gujarat will have participants competing in the festival. The event includes not only kite flying but also art and food stalls.
