Land Scam: Ahmedabad Rural Sessions Court Approves Builder Raman Patel’s Crore-Worth Land, Trial Extension Requested
The rural sessions court in Ahmedabad has approved the land of the popular builder Raman Patel in the Godhavi land scam case. Advocate Manish Oza fought the case on behalf of Raman Patel in the Ahmedabad Gram Panchayat. Additional Advocate General Mitesh Amin represented the government’s side. The dispute over the 1982 land involved an allegation that the accused had added another person’s name to the inheritance of the landowner, leading to its purchase. The request for the case to be based on documented evidence forms the basis of the plaintiff’s lawyer’s plea. The trial of the case is expected to take more time, and a request for an extended period to proceed with the trial has been submitted.
What the Entire Case Encompasses
In the Godhavi village land worth crores of rupees, the accused, popular builder Raman Patel, had his 12-day remand revoked by the lower court a year ago. This decision followed a revision petition filed in the sessions court. The court accepted the plea and approved a 7-day police remand for Raman Patel. In 1991, Ramkrishna Acharya, who lived in Sola, passed away. The land in Godhavi and Ghuma belonged to Shatrudhan Das. Ramkrishna Acharya, while creating a revenue record, included the name of Sarjudaas as the heir to the Godhavi village land.
Revision Petition Filed Against the Lower Court’s Order
Subsequently, popular builder Raman Patel and Dasharath Patel had prepared bogus documents for selling the land. These fraudulent documents were registered in the Sanand Sub-Registrar’s office. By creating fake documents, they fraudulently claimed the land and occupied it. After the police arrested Raman Patel, he received a 1-day remand. Once the remand was completed, the police applied for an additional 12-day remand, which the plaintiff challenged by filing a revision petition in the sessions court. The lower court’s order was challenged in the sessions court through a revision petition filed against the decision.
