MLA Chaitar Vasava Appears in Court, Lawyer Gopal Italia Challenges Case, 3-Day Remand Granted
AAP leader and Narmada district’s common man party representative, Chaitar Vasava, who had been absconding after being accused of assaulting forest workers and firing shots in the air, surrendered before the police after 40 days. He appeared before the Dediyapada Court today at 11 am, where the court approved a 3-day remand for further investigation. The National General Secretary of the AAP, Gopal Italia, represented Chaitar Vasava as his lawyer in court.
Gopal Italia Presents as Lawyer for Chaitar Vasava’s Surrender
In his defense, Gopal Italia, the National General Secretary of AAP, presented arguments in favor of Chaitar Vasava’s surrender before the Dediyapada Court. The police had requested a 14-day remand for investigation, but the court approved a 3-day remand.
Police Investigation and Opposition’s Stance
The police had sought a 14-day remand for further investigation, while the government lawyer, Mukesh Chauhan, argued in favor of the government. The court eventually approved a 3-day remand. The opposition leader, Gopal Italia, argued that the case is baseless, suggesting that if proven otherwise, they should file a First Information Report (FIR) against him.
Chaitar Vasava Granted 3-Day Remand
The court granted a 3-day remand for Chaitar Vasava, who surrendered in connection to the allegations made against him. The AAP leader will be in custody until the court reconvenes on December 18 at 12 pm. The court ensured that no harm would befall the legislator during this period.

Chaitar Vasava, along with other accused, was brought to the Rajpipla Local Crime Branch (LCB) for questioning in a case related to threatening forest workers and firing shots. The police requested a 11 am appearance before the Dediyapada Court for Chaitar Vasava.
Opposition’s Efforts in High Court
The opposition, through sessions and the High Court, sought anticipatory bail for Chaitar Vasava. However, they were left with no option but to surrender before the police. In this case, a total of 7 arrests have been made so far.
