According to the rankings, the team representing India, led by Sunil Chhetri, has reached the 100th position in the South Asian Football Federation Championship (SAFF). In the latest rankings, the reigning world champions Argentina are at number 1 with 1843.73 points, followed closely by runner-up France at number 2 with 1843.54 points, while Brazil holds the third position with 1828.27 points. England’s team has moved up to the fourth position, surpassing Belgium. There is a difference of 7 ranking points between them, with England having 1797.39 points and Belgium having 1788.55 points.

The Blue Tigers defeated Lebanon, New Zealand, and Trinidad and Tobago

The Indian team has surpassed Lebanon, New Zealand, and Trinidad and Tobago in the latest rankings. In the current rankings, Trinidad and Tobago are at 101st position, Lebanon at 102nd, and New Zealand at 103rd. They have accumulated ranking points of 1203.28, 1201.74, and 1199.04, respectively.

Ranking history: In December 1992, the FIFA rankings were released for the first time. At that time, the Indian team was ranked 143rd.

India has benefited from the performance in the SAFF Championship

The Indian football team is currently participating in the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship. The team reached the semi-finals of the tournament five days ago, which resulted in their entry into the top 100 rankings. The Indian team will face Lebanon in the championship. The match will be held in Bengaluru on Saturday evening at 7:30.

In the previous week’s rankings, the Indian team was ranked 101, and in the recently announced rankings, they remained at 101 with 1200.66 ranking points.
