Kinetic Unveils ‘E-scooter Zulu’ at ₹94,990: Promises 104 Km Range on Single Charge, Set to Rival Ola S1
Kinetic Green has launched its new electric scooter, the Zulu, today, December 11. The Zulu is the fourth model in the company’s lineup and comes with a launch price of ₹94,990 (ex-showroom). It is also eligible for FAME-2 subsidy. Kinetic Green’s Zulu will compete with the Ola S1 scooter, and deliveries are expected to begin in January 2024.
Claimed Range of 104 km on a Single Charge The Zulu electric scooter is equipped with a 2.27 kWh lithium-ion battery to provide power. The company claims that once fully charged, it can achieve a range of 104 km. In real-world conditions, it can be expected to cover a range of 70-75 km. It features a 2.1 kW BLDC electric motor with a top speed of 60 km/h. The battery can be charged up to 80% in about 4.5 hours using a 15-Amp socket.
The battery is rated IP67, ensuring it is water and dust-resistant. The charging port is located at the rear and features an auto cut-off facility, making it convenient for overnight charging. With oil cooling technology, the scooter aims to provide high-level safety and efficient thermal management. The Zulu comes with a price increase of ₹10,000 over its predecessor.
Breaking, Suspension, and Features
For the suspension, the scooter is equipped with a front telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers at the rear. It features 10-inch wheels on both ends and disc brakes for braking. The scooter supports regenerative braking, meaning that when the brakes are applied, the battery also gets charged.
In terms of features, it includes a simple LCD unit, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), and storage space behind the apron.
